     Transit Services

Professional specialist security companies can be expensive and in many cases unnecessary bearing in mind the number of piracy attacks that have actually succeeded against large yachts. Many Yacht Owners and Yacht Captains are uncomfortable with the thought of agency people on board and also concerned with the legal and insurance implications regarding both the carriage of fire arms and involvement  in an incident. In all scenarios the Captain has overriding authority but also carries the overall burden of responsibility and accountability. In most cases good forward planning and passage management with some additional support is enough. The motor Yacht Delivery Company can provide that additional support  with the following services.

Captain Peter Corbett MNI MRIN

IMO circular MSC.1/Circ.1334 provides guidance to ship owners and operators, masters and crews on preventing and suppressing acts of piracy and armed robbery against ships. It recommends the carriage of additional crew members when a ship is scheduled to operate in waters at high risk of piratical attack and increased emphasis on security training and drills.

The Motor Yacht Delivery Company is not a security agency, it does not provide armed guards or surveillance. We can provide a qualified Captain with the appropriate experience, to either deliver your yacht as the delegated delivery master or provide additional security and support for your own Captain by supplying a Night Captain that will fit in seamlessly with the ships crew and routines for the duration of the transit or passage ensuring the security and comfort knowing there is a master on the bridge 24/7.
